Meeting No. 9

Tuesday, June 3, 2003

The Subcommittee on National Security of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 4:13 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Marlene Jennings, Derek Lee and Kevin Sorenson.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Principal.

Witness: From the Department of the Solicitor General: Paul E. Kennedy, Senior Assistant Deputy Solicitor General, National Security.

Pursuant to a motion of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights adopted on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, the Subcommittee commenced consideration of Ministerial Direction to CSIS of the Department of the Solicitor General of Canada.

Paul Kennedy made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
