The Subcommittee on Children and Youth at Risk of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:20 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, John Godfrey, presiding.
Members of the Subcommittee present: Sébastien Gagnon, John Godfrey, Anita Neville, Larry Spencer and Alan Tonks.
Other Member present: Wendy Lill.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From the Assembly of First Nations: Chief Matthew Coon Come, National Chief. From the Canada West Foundation: Calvin Hanselmann, Senior Policy Analyst. From the Metis National Council: Audrey Poitras, Interim President and National Spokesperson. From the Pauktuutit (Inuit Women's Association): Veronica N. Dewar, President.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(b) and 108(2), the Subcommittee resumed its study on aboriginal children from 0 to 6 years living off reserve.
Matthew Coon Come, Calvin Hanselmann, Audrey Poitras and Veronica Dewar made opening statements and answered questions.
At 5:11 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
