The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in camera at 9:11 a.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, the Chair, John Williams, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Colleen Beaumier, Paul Forseth, Roger Gaudet, Philip Mayfield, Val Meredith, Shawn Murphy, Beth Phinney, Judy Wasylycia-Leis and John Williams.

 

Acting Members present: Christian Jobin for Mac Harb, Joe Peschisolido for Steve Mahoney and Judy Sgro for Sophia Leung.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean Dupuis, Analyst; Brian O'Neal, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee commenced consideration of the draft report on Chapter 6 (Federal Government Support to First Nations - Housing on Reserves) of the April 2003 Report of the Auditor General of Canada
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee adopt the Report as the Twentieth Report of the Committee.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the Twentieth report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That a Press Release be issued.

 

It was agreed, — That Judy Wasylycia-Leis be authorized to append a dissenting opinion to the Twentieth Report and that the opinion be limited to one page, be provided in both official languages, be in an electronic format and be provided to the Clerk of the Committee within forty-eight (48) hours.

 

At 9:56 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
