The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in camera at 3:55 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D Centre Block, the Chair, Reg Alcock, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Leon Benoit, Ken Epp, Raymonde Folco, Pat Martin, Massimo Pacetti and Paul Szabo.

 

Acting Members present: Serge Cardin for Robert Lanctôt, Charles Hubbard for Roy Cullen, John Maloney for Judy Sgro, Carmen Provenzano for Derek Lee and Guy St-Julien for Carolyn Bennett.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jack Stilborn, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order111.1(1), the Committee resumed the examination of the proposed appointment of Jennifer Stoddart, to the position of Privacy Commissioner, referred to the Committee on October 29, 2003.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report on the proposed appointment of Jennifer Stoddart to the position of Privacy Commissioner.

 

It was agreed on recorded division, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: Proposed Appointment of Ms. Jennifer Stoddart as Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and researchers be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: Process Issues Identified During the Review of the Proposed Appointment of Ms. Jennifer Stoddart as Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and researchers be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.
