The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:20 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Paul Crête, Nick Discepola, Brian Fitzpatrick, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy, Brent St. Denis and Joseph Volpe.
Acting Member present: Dick Proctor for Brian Masse.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Council of Chief Executives: John R. Dillon, Vice-President, Policy and Legal Counsel. From the Canadian Manufacturers and Exporters: Jayson Myers, Chief Economist. From the Canadian Labour Congress: David Bennett, National Director, Health, Safety and Environment.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing on the Potential Economic Impact on Canadian Industry of Implementing the Kyoto Protocol.
The witnesses made opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:23 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
