The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met in an in camera joint session with the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, Walt Lastewka, Chair of the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology and Clifford Lincoln, Chair of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Paul Crête, Brian Fitzpatrick, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy, Brent St. Denis and Joseph Volpe.

Members of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage present: Carole-Marie Allard, Paul Bonwick, Liza Frulla, Loyola Hearn, Clifford Lincoln, Alex Shepherd and Chuck Strahl.

Acting Member present: Benoît Sauvageau for Christiane Gagnon.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Geoffrey P. Kieley and Dan Shaw, Sam Banks, Joseph Hackson and Terrence Thomas, Research Officers.  Consultant: David Black.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed joint consideration with the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage of Foreign Investment Restrictions Applicable to Telecommunications Common Carriers.

At 11:00 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
