The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Monte Solberg, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Libby Davies, Monte Solberg, Larry Spencer and Diane St-Jacques.
Acting Member(s) present: David Price for Raymonde Folco and Odina Desrochers for Suzanne Tremblay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Department of Human Resources Development: Nada Semaan, Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Income Security Programs; Charlotte Cloutier, Director General of Low-Income Pensioners, Income Security Programs.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), status review of the Guaranteed Income Supplement.
Nada Semaan made a statement and with the other witness answered questions.
At 12:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
