MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 34

Wednesday, May 7, 2003

The Standing Committee on Health met in camera at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Bonnie Brown, Jeannot Castonguay, Hon. Hedy Fry, Betty Hinton, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Svend Robinson and Yolande Thibeault.

Acting Members present: Dominic LeBlanc for Stan Dromisky; Aileen Carroll for Raymonde Folco and Andy Savoy for Brenda Chamberlain.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the Canadian Strategy on HIV/AIDS.

The Committee resumed consideration of draft recommendations.

It was agreed, -- That all questioning of witnesses be limited to five (5) minutes per member and that the Chair direct the first two (2) questions to members of the Canadian Alliance, followed by five (5) minutes for the Bloc québécois, five (5) minutes for the Liberal Party, five (5) minutes for the New Democratic Party, five (5) minutes for the Liberal Party, five (5) minutes for the Progressive Conservative Party and that subsequent questions be alternately shared between Opposition and Government members at the discretion of the Chair.

At 4:38 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
