The Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 11:09 a.m. this day, in Room 112-N Centre Block, the Chair, Peter Adams, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Marlene Catterall, Rodger Cuzner, Yvon Godin, Michel Guimond, Dale Johnston, Joe Jordan, Gerald Keddy, Judi Longfield, Lynn Myers, Geoff Regan, John Reynolds and Werner Schmidt.

 

Acting Members present: Ken Epp for Dale Johnston.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Robertson, Principal; Margaret Young, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to its mandate under Standing Order 108(3)(a)(iii), the Committee resumed consideration of matters related to the inclusion of a code of conduct in the Standing Orders of the House.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be the Committee's report to the House and that the Chair do present it to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and researchers be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

The Committee commenced consideration of a second draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be the Committee's Report to the House and that the Chair do present it to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report dissenting or supplementary opinions from the Parties provided that they are submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2003.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Monday, May 26, 2003, the Committee commenced consideration of the questions of privilege regarding Members' being compelled to attend court.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(a)(iii), the Committee commenced consideration of the provisional Standing Orders regarding Private Members' Business.
 

The Committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report be the Committee's Report to the House and that the Chair do present it to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 12:26 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
