Meeting No. 21

Tuesday, April 30, 2002

The Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities of the Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Carolyn Bennett, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Carolyn Bennett, Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral and Anita Neville.

Acting Member present: Werner Schmidt for Reed Elley.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Bill Young and Kevin Kerr, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Human Resources Development: Paul Migus, Assistant Deputy Minister, Income Security Programs; Doug Taylor, Director, Disability and Reconsiderations Division; Nancy Lawand, Director, CPP Program Policy. From the Department of Finance: Réal Bouchard, Director, Federal-Provincial Relations and Social Policy.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Sub-committee resumed its study of Canada Pension Plan Disability. (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday April 9, 2002, Meeting no. 19).

Paul Migus made an opening statement and with the witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:48 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
