Tuesday, February 26, 2002

The Special Committee on Non-Medical Use of Drugs met at 3:26 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Paddy Torsney, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Derek Lee, Réal Ménard, Kevin Sorenson and Paddy Torsney.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin and Marilyn Pilon, research officers.

Witness: From the Parliament of Westminster: Paul Flynn, Labour MP, Newport West.

Pursuant to the Orders of Reference adopted by the House of Commons on Thursday, May 17, 2001, Thursday, November 8, 2001, and Friday, February 8, 2002, the Committee resumed consideration of the factors underlying or relating to the non-medical use of drugs (See Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, June 7, 2001, Meeting No. 1)

Paul Flynn made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
