Meeting No. 12

Wednesday, March 13, 2002

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 4:25 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Marcel Proulx, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Michel Guimond, Marcel Proulx, Gerry Ritz and Tony Tirabassi.

Acting Member present: Grant McNally for Jay Hill.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Paul Forseth, Pierrette Venne, John Bryden, Philip Mayfield, Mauril Bélanger, Val Meredith, John Cannis, Bernard Bigras, John Duncan, Pat Martin, Libby Davies for Svend Robinson and Jim Abbott.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, February 28, 2002.

 

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 6:10 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

 

At 6:15 p.m., the Sub-Committee proceeded to sit “In Camera” to select votable items.

 

At 6:30 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
