Meeting No. 10

Wednesday, November 21, 2001

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Bill Blaikie, Garry Breitkreuz, Jay Hill, Carolyn Parrish and Marcel Proulx.

Acting Member present: Pierre Brien for Michel Guimond.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Charles Caccia, Gilles Perron, Yvon Godin for Peter Stoffer, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Stéphan Tremblay, Murray Calder, Pat Martin, Deepak Obhrai, and Tony Valeri for Roger Gallaway.

Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, November 1, 2001.

The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.

At 5:10 p.m., the Sub-Committee proceeded to sit in camera to select votable items.

It was agreed, - that no item considered be selected as votable.

At 5:25 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
