Tuesday, November 6, 2001
The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:14 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Paul Crête, Libby Davies, Monique Guay, Judi Longfield, Serge Marcil, Anita Neville, Joe Peschisolido, Diane St-Jacques.
Acting Member(s) present: Carolyn Bennett for Gurbax Malhi, John Godfrey for Raymonde Folco, Larry McCormick for Alan Tonks, Werner Schmidt for Carol Skelton, from 11:33 to 11:39 Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral for Monique Guay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Julie Mackenzie and Bill Young, Research Officers.
Dr. Carolyn Bennett, Chair of the Sub-Committee on the Status of Persons with Disabilities reported on the future workplan of the Sub-Committee.
John Godfrey, Chair of the Sub-Committee on Children and Youth at Risk reported the future workplan of the Sub-Committee.
On motion of Carolyn Bennett, it was agreed, -- That the Report “Measuring Quality of Life: The Use of Societal Outcomes by Parliamentarians” be published as an Appendice in the record of the meeting of Thursday, November 1st, 2001”.
At 11:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 11:39 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.
The Committee proceeded to discuss its future business.
It was agreed, -- That November 20th and 27th the Committee study a draft report on Guaranteed Income Supplement Under Subscription, that November 22nd Hon. Claudette Bradshaw appear and that Hon. Jane Stewart be invited to appear on November 29th.
At 11:51 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
