MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 58

Wednesday, May 1st, 2002

The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Charlottetown, the Chair, Clifford Lincoln, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Jim Abbott, Rodger Cuzner, Christiane Gagnon, John Harvard, Wendy Lill and Clifford Lincoln.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Cofman, intern; Joseph Jackson, Research Officer.  Consultant: David Black.  Expert Advisor:  Marc Raboy.

Witnesses:  As Individual: George Park, Anthropologist; David Helwig, Author; Brian Pollard, Independent Film Producer.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study on the State of the Canadian Broadcasting System.  (See Minutes of Proceeding, dated Thursday, November 8, 2001, Meeting No. 26).

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 11:10 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
