The Standing Committee on Health met at 11:08 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Bonnie Brown, Colleen Beaumier, Jeannot Castonguay, Brenda Chamberlain, Stan Dromisky, James Lunney, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Hélène Scherrer, Judy Sgro, Yolande Thibeault, Judy Wasylycia-Leis.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier and Sonya Norris, Research Officers.
Witness(es): From the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation: Gilles Lanteigne, Assistant Executive Director; Paula Greco, Manager, Research and Development. From Health Canada - Health Products and Food Branch Inspectorate: Étienne Ouimette, Blood, Tissues and Organs Compliance Coordinator. From the Royal Canadian Mounted Police & the- Society for the Policing of Cyberspace: Earl Moulton, Chief Superintendent and President of the Society.
The Committee resumed consideration of the draft legislation on Assisted Human Reproduction. (See Minutes of Proceeding dated Thursday, May 3, 2001, Meeting No. 13).
Gilles Lanteigne, Étienne Ouimette and Earl Moulton made statements and, together with Paula Greco, answered questions.
At 12:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
