Wednesday, October 27, 1999
The Standing Committee on Transport met in a televised session at 5:19 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Stan Keyes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Gérard Asselin, Roy Bailey, Murray Calder, Bill Casey, Joe Comuzzi, Bev Desjarlais, Stan Dromisky, Claude Drouin, Joe Fontana, Michel Guimond, Charles Hubbard, Ovid Jackson, Stan Keyes, Val Meredith, Lou Sekora.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.
Witnesses: From the Air Canada: Robert A. Milton, President and Chief Executive Officer; Douglas D. Port, Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Government Relations; Duncan Dee, Manager, Government Relations.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study on the future of the airline industry in Canada.
Mr. Robert Milton made an opening statement and, with Douglas Port and Duncan Dee, answered questions.
At 7:03 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting was suspended.
At 7:04 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting resumed in camera.
It was agreed,--That the Clerk be instructed to request from the Department of Transport a copy of the document related to Section 47 of the Canada Transportation Act which was referred to by the Minister during his appearance before the Committee on October 26, 1999.
At 7:09 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
