The Standing Committee on Transport met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Stan Keyes, presiding.

Membes of the Committee present: Roy Bailey, Murray Calder, Bill Casey, Stan Dromisky, Michel Guimond, Charles Hubbard, Ovid Jackson, Dale Johnston, Stan Keyes, Val Meredith.

Acting Member present: John Solomon for Bev Desjarlais.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: John Christopher; June Dewetering, Researchers.

Appearing: From the Transport Canada: David Collenette, Minister.

Witnesses: From the Transport Canada: Margaret Bloodworth, Deputy Minister; Louis Ranger, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy; Ronald Sully, Assistant Deputy Minister, Programs and Divestiture; Ron Jackson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Safety and Security; Janet Milne, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services Group.

Briefing Session with the Minister and his senior staff.

The Honourable David Collenette made an opening statement and, with his senior staff, answered questions.

At 4:07 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting was suspended.

At 4:38 p.m., by unanimous consent, the sitting was resumed.

At 5:48 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
