Tuesday, November 2, 1999
The Standing Committee on Industry met at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Pierre Brien, Brenda Chamberlain, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Ian Murray and Susan Whelan.
Acting Member present: Dan McTeague for Gerry Byrne.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Daniel Brassard and Daniel Shaw, Research officers.
Witness: From the National Research Council of Canada: Dr. Arthur J. Carty, President.
Pursuant to the Committee's mandate under Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study concerning Productivity, Innovation and Competitiveness (See Minutes of Proceedings and the Evidence of Tuesday, November 2, 1999, Meeting No. 2).
The witness made a presentation and answered questions.
At 5:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
