Thursday, February 24, 2000
The Standing Committee on Industry met at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Susan Whelan, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Antoine Dubé, Marlene Jennings, Walt Lastewka, Gurbax Malhi, Charlie Penson, Jerry Pickard, Nelson Riis and Susan Whelan.
Acting Member present: Eric Lowther for Werner Schmidt.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw and Nathalie Pothier, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Credit Union Central of Canada: Brian Topp, Vice-President; Rob Martin, Research Associate. From the Business Development Bank of Canada: Luc Provencher, Deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of Business Lending to Small and Medium Sized Enterprises.
The witnesses made statements and answered questions.
