The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:05 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Yvan Bernier, John Duncan, Wayne Easter, Bill Gilmour, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gerald Keddy, Bill Matthews, Marcel Proulx, Lou Sekora, Paul Steckle, Peter Stoffer.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witnesses: From the Department of Fisheries and Oceans: Liseanne Forand, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy; Dr. John Davis, Assistant Deputy Minister, Science; Iola Price, Director, Aquaculture and Oceans Science Branch; Michel Leclerc, Special Advisor to the Assistant Deputy Minister (Policy).

Pursuant To Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Aquaculture.

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

At 10:16 o'clock a.m., John Duncan, the Vice-Chair, took the Chair.

At 10:40 o'clock a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:45 o'clock a.m., the Committee met in camera.

At 11:16 o'clock a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
