GOVERNMENT ORDERS

The Order was read for the consideration of the Business of Supply.

Ms. McDonough (Halifax), seconded by Mr. Martin (Winnipeg Centre), moved, -- That this House calls on the government to intensify and accelerate efforts to find a diplomatic solution to the crisis in Kosovo through the involvement of Russia and the United Nations, and to urge NATO not to take actions that expand the conflict and stand in the way of a diplomatic solution.

Debate arose thereon.

Mr. Earle (Halifax West), seconded by Mrs. Desjarlais (Churchill), moved the following amendment, -- That the motion be amended by replacing the words ``to take actions'' with the following:

``to impose a naval blockade or take any other actions''

PRIVATE MEMBERS' BUSINESS

Mr. Thompson (New Brunswick Southwest), seconded by Mr. Borotsik (Brandon -- Souris), moved, -- That, in the opinion of this House, the government should take all necessary steps to provide a humane and fair resolution for those infected with hepatitis C through the blood supply system, and provide for research, education and support into the identification of other inherited bleeding disorders, in particular von Willebrand's disease. (Private Members' Business M-273)

Debate arose thereon.
