MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 1997

The Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Shaughnessy Cohen, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Eleni Bakopanos, Shaughnessy Cohen, Paul DeVillers, Paul E. Forseth, Derek Lee, Peter G. MacKay Gurbax Malhi, John Maloney and Jack Ramsay.

Acting Members present: Sue Barnes for Sheila Finestone, Bob Speller for Andrew Telegdi and Pierre de Savoye for Michel Bellehumeur.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Senior Analyst and Gérald Lafrenière, Research Officer.
