Meeting No. 54

Tuesday, November 17, 1998

The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Charles Hubbard, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: John Cummins, Claude Drouin, Wayne Easter, Charles Hubbard, Nancy Karetak-Lindell, Gar Knutson, Gary Lunn, Bill Matthews, Carmen Provenzano, Yves Rocheleau, Lou Sekora.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.

Witness(es):From the Nunavut Wildlife Management Board: Michael d'Eça.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of Prince Edward Island and Nunavut Fisheries issues.

Michael d'Eça made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 10:15 a.m., the meeting was suspended.

At 10:25 a.m. the Committee met in camera.

It was agreed, - That the Nunavut Report be approved in principle and that the Committee will formally adopt the report on Thursday, November 26, 1998 and that the report will be tabled on Tuesday, December 1, 1998 and if there is to be any minority reports, that they be ready for Thursday, November 26, 1998.

At 11:25 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
