Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, March 21, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of Current Situation of Human Rights in Ukraine and Russia.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

RULING BY THE CHAIR

The Chair ruled that it was the discretion of the Chair to allow a witness more time in order to comment after the rounds of questions were complete.

Whereupon, Heather McPherson appealed the decision of the Chair.

The question: "Shall the decision of the Chair be sustained?" was put and the decision was overturned on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Arnold Viersen — 1;

NAYS: Heather McPherson, Randeep Sarai, Denis Trudel, Anita Vandenbeld, Sameer Zuberi — 5.

At 8:14 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 8:19 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, February 7, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of Recognition of International Human Rights Champions.

At 8:22 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
