Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, February 14, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of Human Rights in Repressive States: The Situation of Human Rights Defenders, Journalists and Media Organizations.

The committee proceeded to give drafting instructions to the analysts for a draft report.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, February 7, 2022, the subcommittee commenced its study of Recognition of International Human Rights Champions.

It was agreed, — That members send their top 5 choices in ranked order from the compiled list to the clerk no later than end of day Friday, April 29, 2022.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, March 21, 2022, the subcommittee resumed its study of Current Situation of Human Rights in Ukraine and Russia.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $4,125.00, for the study of the Current Situation of Human Rights in Ukraine and Russia, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the meeting of May 10, 2022, be dedicated to a meeting on the current situation of human rights in Ukraine and Russia.

It was agreed, — That the subcommittee issue a statement on the current situation of Human Rights in Ukraine and Russia after the meeting of May 10, 2022.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the subcommittee on Monday, February 7, 2022, the subcommittee commenced its study of the Current Human Rights Situation in Iran.

It was agreed, — That members forward their lists of proposed witnesses to the clerk no later than end of day on Friday, April 29, 2022.

The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That one meeting be dedicated to an update on the current situation in Tigray.

It was agreed, — That two meetings be dedicated to an update on the current situation in Haiti.

It was agreed, — It was agreed, that the subcommittee request a written brief from Professor Irwin Cotler on the subject of Canadian judges serving as non-permanent members in Hong Kong courts.

At 7:50 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
