The subcommittee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to subcommittee business.

It was agreed, — That the request for reimbursement presented by John Aldag regarding a witness who submitted her expense claim to the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs after the 60-day deadline be concurred in.

Pursuant to Standing Order 107(1), the subcommittee resumed its study on budget submissions.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Access to Information, Privacy and Ethics be granted a study budget of $16,500.00 for its study of federal government’s use of technological tools capable of extracting personal data from mobile devices and computers.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a supplementary study budget of $6,000.00 for its study of Bill C-27, An Act to enact the Consumer Privacy Protection Act, the Personal Information and Data Protection Tribunal Act and the Artificial Intelligence and Data Act and to make consequential and related amendments to other Acts.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Industry and Technology be granted a study budget of $9,000.00 for its study on accessibility and affordability of wireless and broadband services in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates be granted a supplementary study budget of $5,000.00 for its study of the ArriveCAN application.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $500.00 for its study of the report of the Federal Electoral Boundaries Commission for Ontario 2022.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a supplementary study budget of $1,000.00 for its study of the question of privilege related to the Speaker's public participation at an Ontario Liberal Party convention.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs be granted a study budget of $12,250.00 for its study of Parliamentary Protocol Related to an Incident in the Speaker's Gallery on Friday, September 22, 2023.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a study budget of $14,500.00 for its study of Bill C-26, An Act respecting cyber security, amending the Telecommunications Act and making consequential amendments to other Acts.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on International Trade be granted a travel budget of $152,161.73 to travel to Prince Rupert, British Columbia; Winnipeg, Manitoba; Windsor, Ontario; Montréal, Québec; and Halifax, Nova Scotia, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of Canadian businesses in supply chains and global markets.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development be granted a travel budget of $86,928.58 to travel Fort McMurray, Alberta; Fort Chipewyan, Alberta; and Wood Buffalo, Alberta, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of toxic leak of tailings Ponds.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development be granted a travel budget not exceeding $225,000.00 to travel to Yerevan, Armenia; Baku, Azerbaijan; Kyiv, Ukraine; Warsaw, Poland; and Przemysl, Poland, for a maximum of seven days, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of the security at the borders between Azerbaijan and Armenia and the situation at the Russia-Ukraine border and implications for peace and security.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans be granted a travel budget not exceeding $150,000.00 to travel to Whitehorse, Yukon; Carmacks, Yukon; and Dawson City, Yukon, for a maximum of seven days, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of the population sustainability of Yukon salmon stocks.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Health be granted a travel budget of $132,550.60 to travel to Montréal, Québec; Vancouver, British Columbia; Calgary, Alberta; and Red Deer, Alberta, for a maximum of seven days, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of the opioid epidemic and toxic drug crisis in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Indigenous and Northern Affairs be granted a travel budget of $99,360.20 to travel New York, New York, United States of America, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII), during a non-sitting week.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on National Defence be granted a travel budget of $125,936.44 to travel to Washington, D.C., United States of America; Denver, Colorado, United States of America; Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States of America; Houston, Texas, United States of America; and Orlando, Florida, United States of America, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of Canadian Armed Forces’ role in space defence.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security be granted a travel budget of $8,199.20 to travel to Montréal, Québec, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of the growing problem of car thefts in Canada.

It was agreed, — That the Standing Committee on Science and Research be granted a travel budget of $105,242.20 to travel to Vancouver, British Columbia; Kelowna, British Columbia; Kaleden, British Columbia; Penticton, British Columbia; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Toronto, Ontario; Sudbury, Ontario; Lively, Ontario; Chalk River, Ontario, and surrounding areas, for a maximum of five days, in the Spring of 2024, in relation to its study of big science in Canada.

At 1:52 p.m., the subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
