The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That when the committee meets on Monday, December 12, 2022, witnesses from le Barreau du Québec be invited to appear as witnesses on Bill S-4, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Identification of Criminals Act and to make related amendments to other Acts (COVID-19 response and other measures), for not more than one hour, that following the appearance, the committee shall immediately proceed and complete clause-by-clause consideration of said bill, and that the bill be reported to the House not later than Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

It was agreed, — That the deadline to submit amendments to Bill S-4, An Act to amend the Criminal Code and the Identification of Criminals Act and to make related amendments to other Acts (COVID-19 response and other measures), be 11 a.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022.

Pursuant to the motion adopted by the House on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 and the motion adopted by the committee on Thursday, September 22, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the subject matter of Bill C-28, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (self-induced extreme intoxication).

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

At 4:58 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
