Pursuant to the order of reference of Wednesday, September 20, 2023, the committee commenced consideration of Bill C-318, An Act to amend the Employment Insurance Act and the Canada Labour Code (adoptive and intended parents).

Rosemarie Falk made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

Tracy Gray moved, — That, pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday November 9, 2023, the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Official Languages, the Minister of Housing, Infrastructure and Communities, the Minister of Diversity, Inclusion and Persons with Disabilities, the Minister of Labour and Seniors, the Minister of Families, Children and Social Development, and the Minister of Citizens’ Services, appear before the committee for one hour each to consider the Supplementary Estimates (B) between Monday, December 4, 2023, and Monday, December 11, 2023.

Debate arose thereon.

Amendment

Peter Fragiskatos moved, — That the motion be amended by:

adding after the word “for” the following: “no fewer than”;

adding after the word “each” the following: “, in two panels of three,”;

deleting the words “between Monday, December 4, 2023, and Monday December 11, 2023”.

The question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
