Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2023-24: Votes 1 and 5 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, referred to the committee on Wednesday, February 15, 2023.

The Chair called Vote 1 under Department for Women and Gender Equality.

The Minister made a statement and, with Frances McRae, answered questions.

Vote 1 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, less the amount voted in the interim supply, carried.

The Chair called Vote 5 under Department for Women and Gender Equality.

Vote 5 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, less the amount voted in the interim supply, carried.

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1 and 5 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, less the amounts voted in the interim supply, to the House.

At 4:47 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, the committee resumed its study of human trafficking of women, girls and gender diverse people.

Cathy Peters, Kelly Tallon Franklin and Bonnie Brayton made statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $1,000, for the study of Main Estimates 2023-24: Votes 1 and 5 under Department for Women and Gender Equality, be adopted.

At 5:52 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
