Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(h) and the motion adopted by the committee on Wednesday, December 7, 2022, the committee resumed its study of foreign interference and threats to the integrity of democratic institutions, intellectual property and the Canadian state.

Morris Rosenberg made a statement and answered questions.

Motion

René Villemure moved, — That, in the context of the Trudeau Foundation component of the study on foreign interference and threats to the integrity of democratic institutions, intellectual property and the Canadian state, the committee may reinvite the witnesses already heard or other witnesses that the committee deems relevant, following the information that will be revealed by the documents transmitted by Ms. Pascale Fournier, former president and CEO of the Foundation.

Debate arose thereon.

Amendment

Greg Fergus moved, — That the motion be amended by adding after the words “former president and CEO of the Foundation” the following: “, and by Mr. Morris Rosenberg”.

The motion, as amended, read as follows:

That, in the context of the Trudeau Foundation component of the study on foreign interference and threats to the integrity of democratic institutions, intellectual property and the Canadian state, the committee may reinvite the witnesses already heard or other witnesses that the committee deems relevant, following the information that will be revealed by the documents transmitted by Ms. Pascale Fournier, former president and CEO of the Foundation, and by Mr. Morris Rosenberg.

Questioning of the witness resumed.

It was agreed, — All documents requested from Pascale Fournier and Morris Rosenberg in relation to the study of foreign interference be submitted to the clerk of the committee not later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 5, 2023.

At 5:56 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
