Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Monday, October 3, 2022, the committee resumed its study of the experience of women Veterans.

Jeff Musson, Elena Vazquez, Joseph Maloney, Cora Saunders, Michael Sangster, Patricia Henry, Kathleen Kilgour and Kristin Topping made statements and answered questions.

Motion

Blake Richards moved, — That the committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs to appear before the committee for no less than two hours, on or before Monday, May 1, 2023, to answer questions about what plans the department has in place to ensure there is no disruption in services provided to Veterans and their families.

Debate arose thereon.

At 5:05 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the committee continue to sit.

The committee resumed consideration of the motion of Blake Richards, — That the committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs to appear before the committee for no less than two hours, on or before Monday, May 1, 2023, to answer questions about what plans the department has in place to ensure there is no disruption in services provided to Veterans and their families.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was negatived on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Terry Dowdall, Blake Richards, Fraser Tolmie, Cathay Wagantall — 4;

NAYS: Rachel Blaney, Sean Casey, Luc Desilets, Wilson Miao, Churence Rogers, Darrell Samson, Rechie Valdez — 7.

Questioning of the witnesses resumed.

At 5:23 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
