The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

It was agreed, — That the study concerning challenges faced by women living in rural communities consist of five meetings to be held each Tuesday.

It was agreed, — That the study concerning women’s unpaid work consist of five meetings to be held each Thursday.

It was agreed, — That the second meeting of the pay equity study be scheduled in 2021, based on the availability of the Minister of Labour and the Pay Equity Commissioner.

It was agreed, — That the consideration of a draft report for the study of the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on women begin on Tuesday, January 26, 2021, and additional meetings be scheduled as required.

At 11:27 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, the committee commenced its study of the implementation of the Pay Equity Act.

Yves Giroux made a statement and, with Robert Behrend and Salma Mohamed Ahmed, answered questions.

At 1:00 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
