The committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to committee business.

Motion

Lindsay Mathyssen moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the committee undertake a study of midwifery services across Canada, of not less than three meetings, including the ramifications of the elimination of Laurentian University’s midwifery program and strategies to ensure that access to health services is maintained.

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:

YEAS: Anju Dhillon, Gudie Hutchings, Lindsay Mathyssen, Marc Serré, Sonia Sidhu, Salma Zahid — 6;

NAYS: Andréanne Larouche — 1.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the committee on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, the committee resumed its study of the implementation of the Pay Equity Act.

The committee commenced consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That briefs for the study of sexual misconduct within the Canadian Armed Forces be accepted by the clerk until 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

At 1:04 p.m., the committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
