Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Wednesday, October 4, 2017, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-48, An Act respecting the regulation of vessels that transport crude oil or persistent oil to or from ports or marine installations located along British Columbia's north coast.

The Minister made a statement and answered questions.

At 4:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

The witnesses answered questions.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $37,300, for the study of Bill C-48, An Act respecting the regulation of vessels that transport crude oil or persistent oil to or from ports or marine installations located along British Columbia's north coast, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That officials from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, the Department of Natural Ressources and the Department of Environment be invited for the study of Bill C-48, An Act respecting the regulation of vessels that transport crude oil or persistent oil to or from ports or marine installations located along British Columbia's north coast.

At 5:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
