Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, December 11, 2017, the Committee resumed its study of the current state and future of national energy data.

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

It was agreed, — That the draft report be adopted.

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: "Rethinking Canada’s Energy Information System: Collaborative Models in a Data-Driven Economy".

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analysts be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

It was agreed, — The Committee append to its report the supplementary opinion, submitted electronically to the Clerk of the Committee in both official languages, from the member of the New Democratic Party, provided that it is no more than four pages in length.

ORDERED, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the economic opportunities for energy efficiency in Canada, and its contributions to the Canadian Paris Climate Change commitments, each party send a list of witnesses, by priority, including their contact information to the Clerk of the Committee as soon as possible.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 34,150, for the study of forest pests, be adopted.

It was agreed, — That, in relation to the study of the economic opportunities for energy efficiency in Canada, the Committee submit a preliminary proposal for travel to the Subcommittee on Committee Budgets of the Liaison Committee.

At 11:17 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:25 a.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, June 14, 2018, the Committee commenced its study of forest pests.

Derek MacFarlane and William Anderson made statements and, with Jean-Luc St-Germain, answered questions.

Chris Ward, by videoconference from Fredericton, New Brunswick, made a statement and, with Chris Norfolk, by videoconference from Fredericton, New Brunswick, answered questions.

At 12:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
