Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, October 4, 2018, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-78, An Act to amend the Divorce Act, the Family Orders and Agreements Enforcement Assistance Act and the Garnishment, Attachment and Pension Diversion Act and to make consequential amendments to another Act.

Lawrence Pinsky, Suki Beavers, Pamela Cross and Shaun O'Brien made statements and answered questions.

At 7:06 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 7:12 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Robert Samery, Jess Haines, Heidi Nabert, Abimbola Ajibolade, Elba Bendo and Kim Hawkins made statements and answered questions.

Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Vice-Chair.

It was agreed, — That Michael Cooper be elected First Vice-Chair of the Committee.

At 8:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
