Phase I of the Statutory Review of the Copyright Act

Ottawa, April 12, 2018 -

On April 17 2018, the Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology (the Committee) will launch Phase I of its statutory review of the Copyright Act (the Act).

In Phase I, the Committee will hear from witnesses representing specific sectors of activity, including — but not limited to — music, radio, television and film.

The Committee will start with education, followed by publishing.

The Committee will accept briefs throughout its review of the Act.. However, to best support the work of its members, the Committee encourages Canadians to submit briefs on the topic of Copyright and Education, as well as Copyright and Publishing, as early as possible.

Briefs must not exceed 2,000 words. They may be sent to: indu@parl.gc.ca.
