Mark London, April Britski, Joshua Vettivelu, Debra McLaughlin and Bernard Guérin made statements and, with Moridja Kitenge Banza, answered questions.
At 5:09 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:11 p.m., the sitting resumed.
Dane Lloyd moved, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee undertake a study of no less than 2 meetings to investigate and make recommendations on how Canada’s telecommunications networks operate in public safety and natural disaster emergencies.
Brian Masse moved, — That the motion be amended by adding words after the word ‘‘Committee’’ the following: ‘‘, or a subcommittee,’’.
After debate, the question was put on the amendment of Brian Masse and it was agreed to on the following recorded division:
YEAS: Dan Albas, Vance Badawey, Celina Caesar-Chavannes, Michael D. Chong, Majid Jowhari, Dane Lloyd, Brian Masse, Terry Sheehan — 8;
NAYS: Robert-Falcon Ouellette — 1.
After debate, the question was put on the motion, as amended, and it was negatived on the following recorded division:
