Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, April 11, 2017, the Committee commenced its study of Cultural Hubs and Cultural Districts in Canada.

Ramzi Saad made a statement and, with Lise Laneville, answered questions.

At 9:56 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:01 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), the Committee undertake a study on how to establish gender parity on the Boards of Canadian artistic and cultural organizations, as well as among Artistic Directors across Canada; and, that the Committee shall hear from industry experts, academics and other subject matter experts to fully identify the problem, and to make recommendations that will lead to gender parity.

At 10:09 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
