Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Thursday, October 26, 2017, and Monday, February 5, 2018, the Committee commenced its study of the role of food inspection agencies in the context of free trade agreements.

Jan Bloemendal made a statement and, with Hans Joostens, answered questions.

At 4:26 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $ 16,900.00, for the study of grain transportation backlog, be adopted.

At 4:32 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting resumed in public.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, December 6, 2016, and Wednesday, January 31, 2018, the Committee commenced its study of advancements of technology and research in the agriculture industry that can support Canadian exports.

Tom Rosser made a statement and, with Mario Valicenti and Brian T. Gray, answered questions.

At 5:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
