The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 3:28 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Jinny Jogindera Sims, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Ray Boughen, Brad Butt, Rodger Cuzner, Jim Eglinski, Sadia Groguhé, Colin Mayes, Marie-Claude Morin and Jinny Jogindera Sims.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Caroline Quesnel, Analyst; Shauna Troniak, Analyst. House of Commons: David-Andrés Novoa, Legislative Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Manon Perreault, M.P., Montcalm.

 
Pursuant to the Order of Reference of Thursday, March 26, 2015, the Committee commenced consideration of Bill C-643, An Act to establish National Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Day.
 

Manon Perreault made a statement.

 

At 3:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:42 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

The Committee commenced its clause-by-clause study of the Bill.

 

Pursuant to Standing Order 75(1), consideration of the Preamble and Clause 1, Short Title, was postponed.

The Chair called Clause 2.

 

Clause 2 carried.

 

Clause 3 carried.

 

The Preamble carried.

 

Clause 1, Short Title, carried.

 

The Title carried.

 

The Bill carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report the Bill to the House.

 

At 3:43 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the witnesses for the study of Exploring the Potential of Social Finance in Canada, who were previously scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2015, be re-invited for Tuesday, May 26, 2015.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report on the study of Exploring the Potential of Social Finance in Canada be distributed to members by Tuesday, June 2, 2015 and that the Committee consider the draft report on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 and Thursday, June 11, 2015.

 

At 3:59 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
