The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 362 East Block, for the purpose of electing a Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 106(1).

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Hon. Larry Bagnell, Betty Hinton, Gordon O'Connor, Gilles-A. Perron, Anthony Rota and Rose-Marie Ur.

 

Acting Members present: Nathan Cullen for Peter Stoffer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 
The Clerk of the Subcommittee presided over the election of a Chair.
 

It was agreed, — That Anthony Rota be elected Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

It was agreed, — That Betty Hinton be elected as Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

On motion of Betty Hinton, it was agreed, — That the Subcommittee retain the services of one or more analysts from the Library of Parliament, as needed, to assist the Subcommittee in its work, at the discretion of the Chair.

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee would meet on Mondays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m..

 

It was agreed, — That the Subcommittee proceed to sit in camera.

 

At 11:15 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:17 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Subcommittee proceeded in camera to the consideration of matters related to Subcommittee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee instruct the Analyst from the Parliamentary Information and Research Service to develop several proposed study plans from the Member's recommendations for their consideration at the next meeting.

 

At 11:40 a.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
