Meeting No. 2

Monday, February 10, 2003

The Subcommittee on National Security of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Marlene Jennings, Robert Lanctôt, Derek Lee, John McKay and Kevin Sorenson.

Acting Member present: Rick Borotsik for Peter MacKay.

Other Member present: Lorne Nystrom.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Principal.

Witness: From the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada: George Radwanski, Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

Pursuant to a motion of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights adopted on Wednesday, November 6, 2002, consideration of Privacy Issues related to new security measures and to Bills C-36, C-17 and S-23.

The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.

At 4:56 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
