The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 4:00 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Paul Crête, Nick Discepola, Brian Fitzpatrick, Cheryl Gallant, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Brian Masse, Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy and Brent St. Denis.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Canadian Environment Industry Association: Colin Isaacs, Chair of the Board of Directors, President of Contemporary Information Analysis Limited. From the Canadian Chemical Producers' Association: Richard Paton, President & CEO. From the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association: Bliss Baker, President; Jeff Passmore, Executive Vice-President, IOGEN Corporation. From the Canadian Hydropower Association: Pierre Fortin, Executive Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), Briefing on the Potential Economic Impact on Canadian Industry of Implementing the Kyoto Protocol.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
