The Standing Committee on Health met at 8:09 a.m. this day, in the Plaza 2 Room, PLAZA QUEBEC HOTEL, Quebec, Quebec, the Chair, Bonnie Brown, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Gilbert Barrette, Bonnie Brown, Réal Ménard, Rob Merrifield, Svend Robinson and Hélène Scherrer.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Nancy Miller Chenier, Analyst.

Witnesses: Fédération des infirmières et infirmiers du Québec: Sylvie Boulanger, First Vice-President; Lucie Mercier, Consultant. Committee of People Living with HIV of Quebec: Marc Lapierre, President; Luc Gagnon, Executive Director; José Sousa, Member of the Board of Directors. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 17, 2003, the Committee resumed its study of Prescription Drugs.

Sylvie Boulanger, Jean-Yves Julien and Paul Saba made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 9:08 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:10 a.m., the sitting resumed.

At 9:10 a.m., Réal Ménard took the Chair.

At 9:31 a.m., Bonnie Brown took the Chair.

France Latreille, Charles Tanguay, Martha Paynter and Luc Gagnon made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:00 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:16 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Joseph Kerba, Richard Mayrand, Michel Leblanc and Marc Hasbani made statements and answered questions.

At 11:21 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
