The Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food met at 11:15 a.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Paul Steckle, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: David L. Anderson, Rick Borotsik, Claude Duplain, Howard Hilstrom, Louis Plamondon, Dick Proctor, Paul Steckle and Rose-Marie Ur.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Frédéric Forge, analyst; Jean-Denis Fréchette, analyst.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Cattlemen's Association: Calvin Knoss, Director; Stan Eby, Vice-president; Jim Caldwell, Director, Government Affairs. From the Elite Swine Inc.: Dickson Gould, President; Reinnie Brandt, Accountant. From the Manitoba Pork Council: Marcel Hacault, Chair.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of the Agricultural Policy Framework.
Stan Eby, Calvin Knoss, Dickson Gould and Marcel Hacault made opening statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 12:58 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
