The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Raymonde Folco, Monique Guay, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Diane St-Jacques and Alan Tonks.

Acting Member(s) present: Carolyn Bennett for Serge Marcil, Reed Elley for Dale Johnston and Monte Solberg for Carol Skelton.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference dated December 3rd, 2001 and to section 44 of the Employment Equity Act, the Committee resumed consideration of the statutory review of the Act (See minutes of Proceedings of December11, 2001 – Meeting No.44)

Chloé Serradorri, Gary Malkowski, Elizabeth Ostiguy, Wendy Seinberg and Myriam Girard made statements and answered questions.

At 12:41 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:46 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Michael Bach, Jean-Claude Jalbert, Parteepan Rasaratnam, Laurie Beachell, Brian Payne, Viateur Camire and Gary Birch made statements and answered questions.

At 2:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
