Thursday, May 2, 2002
The Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans met in camera at 9:51 a.m. this day, in Room 536, Wellington Building, the Chair, Wayne Easter, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: John Cummins, Wayne Easter, Bill Matthews, Jean-Yves Roy,.
Acting Members present: Raymond Bonin for Rodger Cuzner, Julian Reed for Georges Farrah, Ovid Jackson for Lawrence O’Brien, Charles Hubbard for Paul Steckle, John Finlay for Tom Wappel.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Alan Nixon, Research Officer.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee began consideration of a draft report on the study of the management of the Little Harbour causeway issue (see Minutes of Proceedings of Thursday, January 31, 2002).
It was agreed, - That the report be adopted as drafted as the Committee’s Seventh Report.
It was agreed, - That the Chair present the said report to the House of Commons.
At 9:52 a.m., the Committee met in open session.
On motion of John Cummins, it was agreed, - That the routine motion of Tom Wappel agreed to on February 28, 2001, for the provision of meals when the Committee is working be interpreted to include also those occasions when the Committee is travelling.
On motion of Bill Matthews, it was agreed, - That up to $1,200 of the operating budget be allotted for hospitality authorized by the Chair as allowed by Section 11 of Bylaw 401 of the Board of Internal Economy.
At 9:56 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
