Wednesday, March 29, 2000
The Sub-Committee on the Study of Sport in Canada met in a televised session at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Dennis Mills, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Marlene Jennings, Raymond Lavigne, Inky Mark, Dennis Mills, Pat O'Brien, Beth Phinney, George Proud, John Solomon, Caroline St-Hilaire.
Acting Member present: Elsie Wayne for Peter MacKay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Antony Jackson.
Witnesses: From the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation: Daniel Asselin, Director, Sport Program Services, French Television; Nancy Lee, Executive Director, TV Network Sports, English television.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), preparation of a progress report on the status of the various recommendations contained in the report on Sport in Canada as they relate to Departments of the Federal Government.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 4:45 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
